Boys will be boys.

Let’s raise good ones.

It takes intentionality, science, and support to raise emotionally intelligent boys in a culture that still rewards "toughening up" over vulnerability.

That's exactly why Dr. Steph (a licensed psychologist & fellow boy mom) created Boy Mom. Because raising emotionally healthy boys starts with informed, supported parents.

What to Expect

The four 90-minute sessions will cover:

  • Open play for toddlers (~ages 1-3)

  • Time for moms to connect and build their village

  • Psychologist-led, evidence-based discussion for moms around boyhood and toddler behaviors/emotions, covering:

    • Raising resilient, confident, and emotionally intelligent boys

    • Helping your son name and cope with big feelings

    • Responding effectively to tough toddler behaviors

    • Nurturing secure attachment and a lasting mother-son bond

    • Space for questions and discussions that come up naturally

❋ supportive Vibes

Real conversation and connection with other moms — the kind that lasts into ongoing playdates and friendships.

❋ Intentional Structure

Topics handpicked to focus on what makes a real difference in raising emotionally intelligent boys.

❋ Low-key Space

Come as you are. Cranky toddlers and comfy sweats are welcome here.

FAQs

  • For this group, toddler age is generally considered 1–3 years old.

However, some wiggle room is fine! If your child is outside that range email Steph at drsteph@evergrowpsych.com to double check that the group will still benefit you.

  • A women-focused space can be incredibly powerful. It creates extra room for honest, unfiltered conversations like processing the emotional weight of motherhood, or simply finding solidarity with women who get it on a deeper level.

That said, raising boys is a team effort and it’s not just up to moms to do it (or moms who need support). Dads, grandparents, stepdads, and all kinds of caregivers play a huge role in our kids' lives. Their support and perspectives matter enormously too.

For those who want more options, Steph is actively working on offerings where all caregivers are welcome! If you'd like to be kept in the loop, reach out to her directly or sign up for emails on the home page.

  • This is a psychoeducational parenting group, not therapy. The content is grounded in clinical research and led by a licensed psychologist, but it's designed to be educational and supportive rather than a substitute for individual treatment. If you're looking for additional resources, Steph is connected with a network of trusted local providers and is happy to point you in the right direction.

  • Yes! Little ones are welcome. Bringing your toddler or infant makes it easier to show up and is a great outlet for them too.

If you'd like to bring both a baby and a toddler, just send Steph a quick email at drsteph@evergrowpsych.com so she can make sure there's enough space for two.

  • Please reach out and let Steph know (drsteph@evergrowpsych.com)! While being able to commit to all four sessions is ideal, missing one can be accommodated.

  • Steph wants every workshop to be accessible to the community. If you need a pro bono or sliding scale fee, please contact her at drsteph@evergrowpsych.com.

  • Email Steph at drsteph@evergrowpsych.com OR click the “book a free consultation call” button at the top of the web page to access a general inquiry form.

We’ll meet at Merritt Wellness, a historic landmark that hosts various wellness + community events.
